Many of our beautiful and intelligent breed need help, often through no fault of their own. Can you help?
Border Collies are beautiful, energetic, intense and highly intelligent dogs - but they are not the easiest breed to live, making them unsuitable for the average pet home. BCRWA is a voluntary service to help educate and provide support to Border Collie owners experiencing difficulties or thinking of re-homing their Border Collie. Please don't leave it to the last minute to seek help!
23 December 2008: Kaya needs a home desperately - can you help?
Our immediate goals are to
- Educate prospective Border Collie owners about the breed and its unique requirements,
- Help owners to resolve problems they are experiencing with their Border Collies,
- Work with owners who need to relinquish their Border Collies to find breed appropriate permanent new homes,
- Assist Western Australian pounds and rescue shelters to find permanent homes for Border Collies (and BC mixes) in their care
- Provide Lost and Found listings to help get Border Collies back in their homes
- Promote Spey-Neutering to reduce the number of Border Collies being bred
- Promote Responsible Border Collie Ownership
Temporary foster homes in Perth and country areas needed urgently.
